NRL leads FOX Sports Winter programming

FOX Sports took to Luna Park to bring back the fun as part of its Winter Launch on Wednesday night.

IMG_4629NRL stars and FOX Sports presenters joined FOX Sports CEO Patrick Delaney under the big top at Sydney’s Luna Park last night for the annual winter sports launch.

The venue fitted the theme for the night, “bringing back the fun” to NRL.

Among the stars in attendance at the event at Luna Park, Sydney, were Greg Inglis, Anthony Minichiello, Jarryd Hayne, and Daly Cherry-Evans, plus Wallabies star Israel Folau, Diamonds legend Catherine Cox and dual international Ellyse Perry, plus FOX Sports personalities Matthew Johns, John Eales, Gorden Tallis, Lara Pitt and Peter Sterling.

They were joined by new FOX Sports recruits Steve ‘Beaver’ Menzies and Scott Prince, George Gregan and John Eales.

The event was impressively staged with giant 360 degree video walls dwarfing the 300 guests with vision of its winter sports offering, headlined by the 2014 NRL, Super Rugby, and ANZ Championship Netball seasons (a separate AFL launch will be held in 2 week’s time in Melbourne).

Always excitable TV exec Patrick Delany, said, “FOX Sports is the fans’ destination for sport. Our unparalleled Live and High Definition sports coverage, broadcast innovations and unrivalled team of experts take fans closer to the sports they love,” he said.

“After the excitement of the weekend action on the field, our weekly shows feed the passion of fans, serving every taste and mood – from the most serious and thoughtful analysis, to pure fun and entertainment.

“In 2014 we are going to unleash the incredible on-air talent that we have across all of our sports. Everything we do will have personality and an emphasis on entertainment.

“We have some of the biggest names in sport, past and present, and the most talented young sports commentators and presenters. With our quality of sports coverage, our proven track-record for innovation and the best on-air teams across all of the winter sports, FOX Sports is the first choice for fans.”
