We don’t have a return date from the ABC yet but US cable network Pivot has announced Please Like Me will return for a 10 episode season from Friday, August 8th.
The Josh Thomas comedy, which has been filming in recent weeks, is Pivot’s first original series and was well-received by US reviewers, some of whom likened it to Girls.
The August return for Pivot would suggest a dual or slightly earlier return on ABC2.
Written by Thomas, produced by Todd Abbott and directed by Matthew Saville the second season also stars Thomas Ward, Debra Lawrance, David Roberts, Caitlin Stasey, Wade Briggs, Nikita Leigh-Pritchard, Renee Lim, Denise Drysdale, Keegan Joyce, Charlotte Nicdao, Charles Cottier, and Hannah Gadsby.
The show is also up for a Logie Award this weekend (hoping pooch John will walk the Red Carpet too -way to get good media coverage!).

Doesn’t look like John will make the red carpet – I just saw Josh Thomas tweeting that TV Week have banned John from the Logies!!!
An outrage!
Wait, US have a return date yet we don’t? strange. I’m glad it’s successful over there but I can’t wait to see it! It’s only right we get it before them.
Can’t wait, such a brilliant show.
I’ll have to rewatch Season 1 DVD shortly.
