Hosted by Ludacris it includes performances by Katy Perry, Pitbull, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez who receives the Icon Award.

Also performing are Robin Thicke, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Shakira, 5 Seconds of Summer, Jason Derulo, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and OneRepublic.

International music superstar Jennifer Lopez will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award the prestigious Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Lopez is the fourth artist and the first woman, in the four years of its existence, to receive the award for their remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music. Past winners include Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince.

Lopez will also take the stage with one of the night’s finalists, Pitbull (Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Song), to debut the official anthem of this year’s FIFA World Cup, “We Are One (Ole Ola).” Lopez will also debut a performance of her single, “First Love” off her tenth album entitled “AKA”.

Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull join an already star-studded line-up of previously announced musical performers including Ricky Martin, Robin Thicke, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Shakira, 5 Seconds of Summer, Jason Derulo, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and OneRepublic, in addition to the world premiere of the Michael Jackson experience.

Grammy Award-winning recording hip-hop artist and actor Ludacris will host the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Newly-revealed stars slated to present alongside Ludacris throughout the evening include Chrissy Teigen, Danica McKeller, Jack Antonoff, Josh Groban, Lucy Hale, Omar Epps, Phillip Phillips, Sarah Hyland, Shania Twain and The Bachelorette’s Andy Dorfman.

Broadcasting direct from Las Vegas, the Awards celebrate the most successful artists in America over the past 12 months. Music heavyweights from all genres will descend on the MGM Grand Garden Arena to see which of the nominated artists walk away with the sought after Awards. This three-hour long special event will feature appearances and performances from some of the world’s biggest superstars, as the top artists are recognised in a variety of genres, including R&B, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latin and Alternative.
