Anja Nissen debut single axed

Plans to release a single today are shelved for The Voice winner in favour of bigger things with will.i.am.

2014-07-22_0933Anja Nissen’s “Winner’s Single,” due to be released today, has been axed, according to media reports.

My Girls, co-written by Delta Goodrem, has been abandoned in favour of a song written with will.i.am to be released next week.

It follows no Winner’s Single being performed on The Voice finale earlier this week.

Manager Michael Parisi told News Corp, “People will be blown away. The next stage of her career will be exciting, this is going to throw everything on its head.”

A Voice journey album of covers will be released on August 1st, minus the Goodrem track, but Universal plans to send her to LA to work with international songwriters.

“We couldn’t be more excited to showcase her to the world,” Universal Music president George Ash said.

Nissen was due to premiere My Girls on the Today show this morning.

  1. Oh dear. The Voice has run out of steam after just three seasons, Idol lasted twice as long as that. The Voice bombed in the ratings, now the winner’s single has been pulled. Anthony Collea already had The Prayer at national number one by this stage.

  2. Poor Delta, perhaps she can use the song herself…………….

Was wondering why she didn’t sing a winning single on the show and why its not out yet.

  3. Huge mistake not releasing a winners single immediately. They’ve missed the very narrow window of opportunity and it will probably never open again.

  4. Does Will.i.am actually run The Voice now? It seems that Anja is getting a lot of free rides since they railroaded her into the final.
Lets hope Nine won,t renew Will’s contract.
