Alright, now 11.45. Why Big Bang Theory instead of Arrow for first hour, then only one hour of Arrow after that? What kind of idiots are running programming?
I also noticed that “Battle Los Angeles” movie was supposed to be on 90 or 99 (I forget which) but was replaced by some other film I’d never heard of….
Please see TV Lounge comments for more on this.
OK, it’s 9.50, Big Bang Theory is about to start.
Where the hell is Arrow?!
See TV Lounge comments.
Probably too late to comment. As a viewer I have no problem with the 9.30pm (ish) start particularly if the EPG is accurate. But I’ll admit I think the rest of the audience will have a problem with the double episodes that end so late. I think it’ll further erode the live audience.
If they are going to play stuff past 9pm. I think it should end before 11pm to better maintain the viewers. Either that or have it be a late night show. But if they do that then unless they are burning it off then it should be one episode a week.
I get it is a genre show so will lose viewers. But I don’t think they are helping matters by what they have done.
Although I think it might be better if they do play the first episode as new and the second as a repeat. That way it might retain the same audience but not matter so much if they can’t stay for the second episode. If needs be make it later with…
Nine doesn’t buy these shows, they bought them. They have a 5 year exclusive deal for all WB output.
They could on-sell them to Fox8.
The way nine treats shows like this, and smallville, doesn’t bode well for The Flash or Gotham either, those 2 shows are also based on dc comics characters, dunno why they bother buying them, but to then not show them at all.
Starting Arrow at 8:30pm is starting it in the middle of an X Factor audition episode.
A lot of Arrow’s audience would record it to watch after The X Factor. TBBT with a larger audience they are hoping will fair better.
@Pertinax, I agree re what worked and didn’t work in S1. Looking forward to S2, as you’ve described. I do think nine could have at least statred Arrow at 8.30, to see how it went.
Same old story bumped,.more silly BBT,tv stations piracy, one to blame are the networks themselves, will not worry me !
Nine really can’t help themselves when it comes to TBBT.
and the networks winge about piracy in Australia. What a joke this is why Aussiexs are the biggest pirates in the world
to me, now this should be a 10:30 show. it’s not gonna rate anyway, so might as well play it out at that slot and play The Following at 9:30. where is that anyway?
Well I was set to tap 9 from 7:30-10:30, but now I’ll rearrange totally.
Arrow didn’t work that well last year it ended up rating 600k and Nine burnt a lot of episodes off as doubles.
There were some weak episodes in the first half of the series. The Island flashbacks never really worked (especially early on where nothing happened), they didn’t do The Huntress arc well and the whole list of conspirators trying to level the ghettos by earthquake was silly.
Repeats of TBBT will rate better, especially with younger viewers.
For the second season they have focused on the main characters and what worked, making it a more conventional superhero story.
I have waited very patiently for S2 of Arrow, & they have just started filming S3 in Vancouver- why did it take so song to air S2????
I was really looking forward to this being my Tues night tv- but now I will have to go to bed halfway though the ep…
By the way ch9, where are the last eps of The Originals????? Don’t tell me i have missed them
Sensible move as it probably won’t rate well anyway. Ratings dropped below 600,000 at the end of season 1, and will inevitably fall further this year. It’s been off air for so long that many will have forgotten about it or have seen it elsewhere. Nine should just move it to GO as a much needed flagship show for the channel.
Sheesh what rubbish! My son watched this a very long time ago and according to him it is much better than season 1. I patiently waited for the FTO to come up but starting at 9.30 (which usually means 9.45 in TV language) it will only end at 11.45?
The total disdain TV station treat viewers with is astounding.
Just onsell them to Foxtel, atleast then someone will air it.
I really would like to know why. I don’t understand nines nervousness in showing Arrow. Why they waited until the season had finished showing in the US, before finally bringing it here. It worked at 8.30 last year. Two hour eps statrting at 9.30 when they have nothing else to show at 8.30 is ridiculous. I’m a fan of TBBT too, repeats are ok on a Friday night maybe, but during the week as filler like they’ve been doing, it’s embarrasing.
Speaking of Ch 9, I’ve been overseas for a month and come back to one recorded episode of Person of Interest. Has 9 dropped it or is it finished for the season?
POI was played out.
And Australians are the biggest downloaders of TV shows why?
And why do Nine have to bring in repeats of The Big Bang Theory? That is unfair.
I will wait for it to come out on DVD, and then buy the series, this is why people get annoyed.
I rarely watch Nine as I can not stand BBT and other shows which just do not appeal.
Probably get it from overseas as I see it is released on 22 September 2014, unless Nine plan to show the annoying double episodes and burn it off by then.
Shocked that nine would do this.
You could make a really good comedy about the Channel Nine programming department. Over to you Working Dog.
Seriously who makes these decisions and then changes them?! They appear incompetent
This doesn’t bode well for the season….
