AFL / SANFL finals on Seven

AFL and SANFL finals on Seven marks the first time since 1987 that anyone has carried both Finals on the same station.

afl-footAFL and SANFL finals on Seven this Sunday marks the first time since 1987 that anyone has carried both Finals on the same station.

All finals on Seven and 7mate will be live, including Port Adelaide’s cut-throat Elimination Final on Sunday from 2.30pm.

Port will be hoping to end Richmond’s nine match winning run in the sell-out Elimination Final at Adelaide Oval.

Port will be playing in its ninth finals series. Port has won both of their two previous elimination finals, in 2005 and 2013.

Friday night promises to be another epic Hawthorn-Geelong battle with each team registering a win against each other in the premiership season and the Cats desperate to atone for last year’s narrow Preliminary Final loss.

At 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon the Dockers face off against the Swans in the First Qualifying Final, and then on Saturday night at 6.30pm the Kangaroos battle the Bombers in their Elimination Final.

After one of the closest and most competitive AFL seasons in living memory, the AFL finals series promises to be one of the best.

The SANFL Finals also continue at Adelaide Oval in another double header on Saturday on 7mate with coverage from 2pm.

Sturt and South Adelaide will clash in the First Semi Final at 2.30pm and Port Adelaide and Norwood will play in the Second Semi Final at 5.30pm.

Both matches in the SANFL IGA League Finals Series will be shown LIVE on 7mate.

Last weekend marked the first time the SANFL Finals footy was on Seven since 1987.

The winner of the Sturt and South Adelaide match will play the loser from the Port v Norwood clash on Sunday, September 14 in the Preliminary Final.

Seven’s Mark Soderstrom and Brenton Yates will call the SANFL action with special comments from seven-time Port Adelaide Magpies premiership legend Tim Ginever and boundary reports and interviews by Tom Wilson.

Seven’s SANFL IGA League Finals elecasts are supported by MAC, RAA, IGA and BankSA.

  1. Did Seven in Adelaide have AFL/VFL TV Rights in 1987? Seven in Melbourne didn’t. It was the ABC that one year……and Channel 0 had the rights in Brisbane…..on sold from the ABC.
