Psst! Game of Thrones town is no longer so ‘wacky.’

Another 9 months. Another stale story that needs a switch-up.

2014-10-28_2018I feel a bit awkward pointing this one out again.

But Fairfax needs to keep a better eye on the stories on its TV and Radio page online.

In January I pointed out that a MasterChef recap had been sitting there for some six months. It was replaced with a ‘Wacky’ story about UK town Kings Langley, changing its name to Game of Thrones‘ “King’s Landing” for a week in February.

Nine months later the story is still sitting there alongside current stories on ABC cuts, Territory Cops and The Code.

It suggests sub-editors, whether located here or overseas, are not visiting the pages in the same way as the public.

For all the criticism media organisations level at their rivals, I don’t think News Corp could ever be accused of letting stories go this stale for this long. This just lets down the good reportage from the Fairfax team.

First world problems, perhaps…

  1. Maybe they should take some notes from my PVR and implement a setting to choose to only see “First Run” articles and not “First Run & Repeats”…
