Airdate: Our Town

Seven Perth is launching a new lifestyle series featuring the regional towns of Western Australia, in Our Town.

Presenter Gavin Pratt begins in Broome where he visits Willie Creek Pearls, boutique resorts the Pearle of Cable Beach and Pinctada Cable Beach and talks to town planners about balancing ‘charm and character’ that town is renowned for, in their future plans.

Produced by Visage Productions, it will also visit towns such as Halls Creek, Newman, Leonora, Karratha, Kununurra, Busselton, Geraldton, Hedland and Lancelin.

Avid traveller Gavin Pratt presents this entertaining and informative show which covers aspects such as tourism, history and culture, with a strong profile on regional and economic development.

The 30 minute program looks at some of the regional towns that have made their mark in WA, and have gathered plenty of history over the years, as well as looking at what is planned for the towns in the future.

There are chats with the locals, the people who have lived in the town for a lifetime, people who have seen the changes, who have experienced the good and the bad times – they will be telling the whole story.

Others who give their insight into the towns will be the farmers, the miners, the shop owners, company executives and representatives, the elders and the workers.

There will be a focus on industry growth, agriculture, forestry, transport, housing, commercial growth, Indigenous projects, education & training, the environment and more.
