Nathan Fillion signs for more Castle, but doubts over Stana Katic.
Everything hinges on whether the show will be renewed for an eighth season or not.

Nathan Fillion has signed a new deal to continue as the title character on Castle, should the show be renewed for an eighth season.
However, the future for co-lead Stana Katic, whose contract also is up, is yet to be determined.
Showrunner David Amann would also not return for any possible Season 8, while TVLine reports both series creator Andrew W. Marlowe and executive producer Terri Edda Miller would likely step away from their producing/writing duties to focus on development.
Amann has previously said, “Obviously, we’re prepared for whatever comes along, and we’ll adjust as necessary…. In the meantime, we’ll just make the best show that we can.”
Last November Katic said, “If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it’s better to stop when you’re on top…. [F]or me it’s about art over finance, and as long as we’re creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we’re good to go. And when we find that we’re not… then it’s time for everyone to pack up and move onto the next thing.”

I’ve never thought of Castle as “art”…
This show is so boring – how has it listed seven seasons? A waste of Nathan Fillion’s talent
So she is holding out for more money. How many times have we seen a successful actor leave a series and then never be heard of again? Shelley Long is one of my all time faves and she left Cheers thinking she was going to be a superstar. With the exception of a cameo or two on Modern Family she has done pretty much nothing.
Stana – think carefully before you walk. They are not going to pay you a whole of lot more than you are worth.
Fact is the show is over if Stana Katic doesn’t return, Nathan and Stana are the core of the show and just about anyone else can go without affecting the show too much. JMO
I think Cattle still has a long way to go creatively. I hope Stana gets on board
The premise was ridiculous, they have had some fun and milked 153 episodes out of it, but it won’t work without Katic.
S7 demonstrated they are completely out of new ideas, even the sweeps episodes were boring.
Time to consign it to endless reruns in syndication.
I hope Stana signs Castle is the best thing on tv right now. Beckett still has more to do like become captain or have kids. I hope Castle last at least until season 10.
