Yep, The Good Wife scene was faked.

Body doubles and clever editing confirmed, but nobody is sayin' why.

Oh girls, please. Can’t we all just git along?

Turns out that final scene between Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi for The Good Wife was indeed faked.

TV Line reports:

Margulies and Panjabi did not shoot that scene together, I have come to learn. Body doubles were employed for the single shots, and the two-shot was spliced together in post-production.

But if ever there were a time for everyone to put aside their differences and make a decision in the best interests of the show — and for the sake of the fans who keep the show on the air — it was then.

It was one scene. We all work with people we don’t like.

(A CBS spokesperson declined to comment for this story, while reps for Margulies and Panjabi could not be reached.)

Last week Archie Panjabi was asked why Kalinda and Alicia hadn’t been in many scenes together in the last couple of years?

“I think that’s a question you need to ask the producers. What is great is that relationship between the two women is one of the best relationships on TV, in terms of it being the most honest. Hopefully, you may see something of that before I leave,” she said.

Which is probably double-speak for ‘It was agreed that we would never have to share a scene again for the remainder of my contract.’

  1. It’s a huge letdown. The scene i’ve been waiting to see for a long long time and it’s not even done properly. Poor form from both actresses. They should have sucked it up and did it. It’s life.

  2. I only saw part of the scene and I thought it looked a bit strange.
    Now I know why!
Bit sad that people can’t get along. It was 1 scene!

  3. I watched the season finale on Tenplay last night and didn’t even click that it was doctored. But watching the Youtube clip above it is a bit more obvious when you see that the majority of their talking involves close ups which only shows the back of the opposing’s head, plus the fact that when they’re combined there is little eye contact. It is such a shame that for the season final of perhaps the best season of The Good Wife to date that we’re not talking about the fact that Alicia was so close to getting with Finn (her first potential love since Will passed), or the fact that it looks like Michael J Foxx will be promoted from Guest to Star in the next season, but rather we’re talking about a supposed behind-the-scenes rift between two of the leading ladies. What a pity.

  4. Julianna Margulies is a producer on the series, so it’s not hard to guess at whose behest this occurred, not that I’m in the business of jumping to conclusions!

  5. Why the powers that be would allow the talent to get away with such rubbish is beyond me. Do your job and put your personal differences aside like every Tom, Dick and Harry does on a daily basis.

    1. Works differently in the US. The Stars are the power. Especially on a show like this. Without Margulies they don’t have a show so whatever she wants she will get. Simple as that.

  6. Who really cares if it was faked…….We have CGI in movies and I think that they did a great job in post production.
It was still great TV !

  7. This is just plain silly. Surely these two could’ve been professional enough to film one last scene together. Both actresses are really great but this just tarnishes that last scene between Kalinda and Alicia.
