Johnny Carson remains America’s favourite late night talk show host according to a poll of more than 2,100 Americans.
Carson, who hosted on NBC from 1962-1992, was preferred by 25 percent of Americans.
Oddly the option of “None” came second at 14%, followed by David Letterman at 13% and Jay Leno followed with 7 percent.
Leno was followed by his successor, Jimmy Fallon, with 6 percent. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O’Brien of TBS each got 3 percent of the vote, while Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart got 2 percent.

Johnny Carson, what a legend.
That new guy on 11 is horrible just loud and annoying
No love for Craig Ferguson???? He smokes all of them IMO.
The one crucial element missing in the information accompanying this poll is what was the demographic of those polled. The figures would indicate it was at the upper end.
Was going to say something similar. If they rang mostly landline numbers then their sampling will be skewed toward older people.
Original source indicates 4 age groups.
