Renewed: Dark Matters

Canadian drama is renewed for 13 more episodes on Syfy.

Canadian ‘space opera’ Dark Matter has been renewed for a second season by Syfy.

13 more episodes from Canadian producer Prodigy Pictures will air in 2016.

Dark Matter, which averaged 1.8 million US viewers during its first season, following six people who wake up on a derelict spaceship without any idea of who they are and how they got there.

It premiered in Australia in June including with a guest appearance from Ruby Rose.

Syfy has also renewed bounty hunter drama Killjoys from Orphan Black producer Temple Street Productions, but it is yet to screen in Australia.

  1. Really enjoy Sci Fi type shows and this is a great one. So glad it’s been renewed.
    Also heard great things about Killjoys, so now I’m looking forward to it knowing that it’s been renewed too.

    1. Yes Channel 4 have done a great job taking the bits of Real Humans and making a good fast paced drama out of them.

      The Dark Matter started off with stereotypes rather than characters and fairly ordinary stories. Having no memories didn’t provide anything to work with. By the end of the series they had developed it into a Blake’s 7 sort of thing. The writing isn’t great and they keep rewriting the characters every episode to suit what ever story they could come up with.
