With the ratings so tight between Sunrise and Today it can be a race to the finish line to secure interview talent.
On the weekend News Corp detailed behind the scenes tugs of war involving various interviews, going as far to suggest “sabotage” with producers telling interview subjects they were from opposition programmes.
Hyperbole aside, the pressure to secure talent isn’t only confined to Australian shores.
Yesterday it was game on in trying to land interviews with Mad Max Oscar winners.
While Today is understood to have sent limousines to a hotel to collect the trophy winners, Sunrise had strategically booked themselves into the same hotel. It managed to secure interviews before they could be whisked off to speak to Richard Wilkins.
TV Tonight hears not everyone was happy with the way things played out.
In the end, happy Mad Max winners did both shows.
Amen to that.

Excuse me …while I pick myself up off the floor….I do not watch either…but great comedy….*G*
This morning on Today and Sunrise they were interviewing a Policeman at the sametime. It didn’t look like a media conference. It was quite bizarre.
