Networks have taken a renewed interest in singer Dami Im following her success at Eurovision, but according to one article today it’s causing some friction.

A homecoming concert staged tomorrow by Logan City Council will be exclusive to the Today show which has resulted in the council rescinding invitations to local news stations and papers.

According to News Corp, Sony Music had to placate Seven by offering Sunrise Dami Im’s first performance on home soil, earlier today.

Seven discovered Dami Im through The X Factor, which she won in 2013.

The article goes as far as to suggest that Today “wasn’t interested” in Dami until two months ago.

  1. Don’t think that Dami was ever the property of seven, however they have helped to promote her to what she has become today with her music and I think she would appreciate all they have done for her, whereas nine have done nothing to help her, except now that she has made a success they are trying to take some credit which is typical on nine as they have had very little success so far with any performer on The Voice or any entertainment programme they have had at all really, seven and ten seem to have had the monopoly on finding talent.

  2. Lets face it. Sony’s great idea for Dami’s career prior to Eurovision was to release a so-so Carpenters cover album. And Seven had long since forgotten about her. So she is no longer their property just as Guy Sebastian is no longer linked to TEN.

    1. Not so. She has done Carols for Seven and sung the Carpenters Songs on Sunrise before she went to Eurovision. She also did Purple Rain on The Morning Show recently as well.

  3. Considering none of nine’s talent shows have ever produced any superstar that any one remembers why is nine all of a sudden jumping on the seven bandwagon and claiming exclusivity for what is channel sevens the X factor creation and world superstar..song music sound know better because it’s sunrise and the X factor that created and turned Dami I’m into a world superstar not the today show or nine .how low can the today show go to win ratings maybe as low as 60mins.maybe today paid Dami for exclusivity .

  4. Seven has done so much to promote and support Dami through Sunrise, The Morning Show & The Daily Edition. Channel 9 are yet to produce good talent and I just think that the fact that Today was apparently knocking back offers to have Dami on in recent years to suddenly “owning her and her Exclusive performances” is ridiculous. Dami Stay Faithful To Seven

    1. So true. It’s one thing Seven has done right. I can’t remember last year’s winner, but X Factor has succeeded in producing good marketable singers. They only needed to produce one star to beat The Voice.

  5. When Dami appeared on Today a couple of weeks before she left for Eurovision, none of the presenters could even pronounce her name properly. Now surprise surprise they have jumped on the bandwagon.
