Nickelodeon’s SlimeFest was held at Sydney’s Olympic Park Sports Centre yesterday and earlier this week in Melbourne.
Hosted by Delta Goodrem, the annual event again featured tonnes of slime, stunts and performances. She opened the show with her new single River before a Wings / Dear Life mash-up, which even saw slime fly out of her piano and into the crowd.
“It was amazing to experience the buzz and excitement at SlimeFest today,” said Delta Goodrem. The kids couldn’t wait to get slimed and of course, neither could I! It was truly a moment I’ll never forget.”
This year’s line-up included Havana Brown performing Like Lightning, We Run the Night, Big Banana, You’ll Be Mine and Warrior. Boy band In Stereo sang She’s Rock and Roll, Make Your Daddy Like Me and Honest, ending with a shower of slime raining onto the ecstatic crowd.
Newly reformed G.R.L., performed Wild, Wild Love, Don’t Talk About Love, Rewind and Ugly Heart, plus performances by OMI and Brisbane-based DJs Mashd N Kutcher.
But it was the glorious green goo the crowd wanted, wearing the stuff like a badge of honour.
A 90 minute Slimefest special aired last night and is repeated on Nickelodeon.
