Budgeting Basics
Are you an aspiring producer/filmmaker or production manager needing to get your head around doing a budget for your screen project? This weekend intensive will head you in the right direction, introducing you to the basic Excel A-Z budget template and explaining the info you need to produce an initial work-in-progress budget. Run by experienced production manager Genevieve Ginty.

Producer Offset: Don’t Fear the QAPE
AFTRS’ one-day course offers an overview of the incentives, and a more detailed consideration of the Producer Offset for feature films. Ideal for producers, production managers and accountants who want detailed information on the requirements and process for accessing the feature film rebate. Course delivered by Industry QAPE expert Sandra Alexander.

Life’s a Pitch
Improve your creative pitching skills in EVERYTHING you do but especially pitching for screen – TV, Movie, Digital and Live Events in this two day intensive. If you are asking for money or a slot, you need this course. The course is run by two executive producers who have pitched & been pitched to in most genres, at public broadcasters & the major networks in three continents, The UK, the USA & Australia. Alison Black and Marion Farelly have both worked for the major independents, at networks & now run their own companies.

Drama Production Management
A comprehensive introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the Production Manager in TV drama and feature film production. It covers the basic skills of budgeting, and day-to-day management of a production. Taught by senior Production Manager Lorelle Anderson.

Business Skills for Creative People
This course includes everything you need to know about working for yourself in the arts. It is especially relevant to freelancers. You’ll learn about business planning, tax, contracts, intellectual property and marketing & much more. The course lecturer is Monica Davidson.

Intro to VR
This course will give you a good overall understanding of the Virtual Reality landscape and specifically how to approach this new medium from a narrative and storytelling perspective. You will also learn about the entire production and post production process involved in creating a 360 video. This course is run by Nathan Andrerson from Start VR.
22-23 April
Intro to Production Accounting
An intensive workshop run by senior staff from Moneypenny Production Accounting which introduces the specialised skills of film and television production accounting to those with little accounting experience. It is designed to give you an overview of the role of a Production Accountant and managing a production budget from lock off stage to completion.

Develop & Pitch your TV Idea
