Big Bang spin-off Young Sheldon proceeds to series

No surprises here.

The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon is going to series -if there is any surprise it is that CBS will skip a Pilot entirely.

Iain Armitage, currently appearing on Big Little Lies, will play young Sheldon Cooper, while Jim Parsons is narrator and an executive producer.

The cast includes Zoe Perry (The Family) as Sheldon’s mother, Lance Barber (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as his dad and Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan as his sister and brother.

The single-camera show, reportedly aiming for something akin to Malcolm in the Middle in terms of tone, is created by Chuck Lorre and current showrunner Steven Molaro.

Young Sheldon is now set for the 2017-18 Fall season.

  1. I won’t be watching. Why would I want to see a young boy saying annoying things. Even the adult sheldon has lost its shine. The show has lost its edge as the characters have not outgrown the show. Sheldons changed penny doesn’t work at least there are no episodes abt it. New baby . Nothing left

  2. This is either going to be really good or corny as all hell, don’t think there’ll be any in between, nice that they cast Laurie Metcalf’s daughter Zoe to play her Mary Cooper part from TBBT.

  3. Given Nine gave away its WB output deal, both Nine and Seven happily flog Big Bang Theory to death, and TEN has a CBS alignment – it could be a high priced three way battle for the rights to this!
