Renewed: The Blacklist, The Goldbergs, Once Upon a Time.

Good news for several US output titles on Seven which have received renewals at ABC and NBC.

The Blacklist will return for a 5th season, with a full 22 episodes. The show is NBC’s second most-watched drama with nearly 10 million viewers. But the spin-off Blacklist: Redemption is still awaiting word on a potential season two.

Nostalgic sitcom The Goldbergs has been renewed for both seasons five and six. Averaging 7.9 million viewers, it is only bettered by Modern Family in ABC’s comedy-line-up. A 1990s spin-off is also in the works.

Once Upon a Time is getting a 7th season of 22 episodes. However star Jennifer Morrison has decided to exit the fairy tale drama at the end of its current sixth season.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will head into its 5th season. It has been averaging 4.6 million total viewers. The drama remains a solid DVR performer and is an international drawcard.

Black-ish will also get a fourth season. It has been pulling 7.6 million viewers.

  1. Fans of the Goldbergs rejoice – Seven have quite graciously started to air new episodes on Monday nights. Of course, there’s no telling how long this bounty will last.

  2. I really enjoy The Blacklist, but at 11.00pm Sunday Night, I don’t want to be watching TV – hence I am forced to watch it elsewhere.

  3. I believe Seven should have a good look at 7TWO/7Mate and have a big revamp of their programming, get all these shows off the late night slots on the main channel and put them on 7TWO/7Mate in a decent time slot. Thursday night is one to look at, 2 hours of The Big Bang Theory on 7Mate and another 2 hours of it on the main channel.

  4. At one point Agents if SHIELD was going to go to Foxtel but that didn’t happen. Would be good to see Gotham and other DC, Marvel upcoming shows all end up on Foxtel rather than be poorly treated.

  5. Thank goodness for the news of SHIELD – it was touch and go for a while. The last two seasons have really picked up (despite a weak Ghost Rider start to this one). Really enjoying The Blacklist, too but not so fussed about Redemption. I think that just filled a backstory and served its purpose.
