  1. I can’t find a date for Gilded Age S2 on Paramount Plus. Last year it was only two days behind the US. David, do you or any of your readers have any info? I know it was included in their upfronts the other week for Paramount shows. First ep aired Sunday US time.

  2. Yes, I know that its most recent host, Shelley Craft is very busy as a real estate agent and as a co-host on The Block, but should a revival of Australia’s Funniest Home Videos be possible today?

      1. Yes, but even the many international versions of the show still airing, including the USA version, have even incorporated viral videos from YouTube et al.

    1. What you find offensive isn’t offensive to others. What you describe doesn’t breach any guideline and a classification indent is shown at the beginning of each episode re its theme. The onus is on the viewer to exercise control. Should one find material offensive on broadcast television, use the remote control supplied with your tv. A broadcaster shouldn’t need to excise scenes because a minority take offence.

  3. A truly bizarre thing very late night on 7 last night-a Swiss made series called ‘Tschugger’, entirely in a Swiss German dialect! Something like ‘Death In Paradise’ but set in the Alps-one could imagine it being a filler on SBS but how on Earth did it end up on commercial FTA?!

  4. With the growing number of FAST channels, I wish there was a direct way to access them all from one source rather than within multiple apps. The Samsung TV Plus app has a few good news channels, but I only have access to that on the newer tv in the bedroom. Surely with internet enabled TV, they can be shown as normal channels the guide.

  5. I have never watched Bluey (I know/my bad)…but reading a 2021 interview…I would say the music is a big part of its appeal…classical…..Much of Disney’s early success was for the same reason.

  6. Memo Ch 9. If you are going to produce a real estate show based on beachside living, I would think that direct access to, or at a minimum, views of sand and / or open water would be mandatory component of the show. I’m not sure showing us houses 3 miles up a hill from a river can be classified as beaschside…

  7. Hi David, or anyone if they know,
I haven’t seen the Adelaide Christmas Pageant in more than a decade since I moved. Given the advent of streaming, I was wondering if anyone knew which channel it would be on so I can see if I can change the location on one of the BVOD streamers to watch it next weekend.

  8. Email newsletter…..Celebrity Gogglebox was even worse than anticipated….and the media feeding frenzy around Melissa Leong was just plain shocking….

    1. What was wrong with it? It was great better than the normal. But was it only a once off? Is there more? I love the British celebrity version too, it’s a hoot.

  9. Why is it that “Poker Face” (the Natasha Lyonne mystery show, not the Russell Crowe heist film) is marketed as a Stan Original Series when it is not even a locally made production?

    1. Sometimes if it is exclusive to that platform they’ll mark it as a “Stan original”. Netflix do this with programs such as Riverdale, the CW show.

      1. Very misleading, as it was distributed two years ago by Peacock. There’s a big difference between “original” and “exclusive” but then, misleading promotions is nothing new.

        1. American streamers do it with anything they own exclusive US rights to, even for a very limited time. People watching it like the show so they want them to associate their platform with it. In this context “original” means created by so it is a lie and would exceed the limits of puffery. If anyone cared about the truth anymore, Stan obviously don’t.

  10. NITV –
They air the movie Poltergeist next Thursday night, and a movie double bill of Labyrinth and Mars Attacks on Friday night.

    I guess there’s a logical explanation.

    1. NITV have been airing random movies on Friday nights for some time now, from the above listed, to Lord of the Flees and Beverly Hills Cop, to even a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle marathon a few weeks ago.

I know there are plenty of Australian films they can air on Friday nights. But am not sure why there random movies air on Friday nights either.

        1. NITV “broadcasts programming produced and presented largely by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people”

I suppose “largely” gives them a pass to play anything from The Brady Bunch to MAFS reruns.
Like the “world” does for SBS.

          1. It’s something I’ve raised before with SBS, such as when Batman was screening on VICELAND. Their advice was along the lines of popular shows allows for revenue to go back into commissioning local content.

          2. NITV also serves as a general entertainment channel in some regional areas. SBS used things like The Handmaids Tale and The Good Fight to generate revenue for making their local productions. These days the ad revenue from SBS On Demand is much larger than their TV revenue.

  11. A disappointing performance by the Brokenwood Players on thursday, S9 E1, 9Gem. The setting, props and acting were good but the play’s motive for the crime was weak and the disposal of the murder weapon implausible. There’s a fine line between quirky and silly. I hope they chose better scripts for their next shows.

    1. I liked this…but like most things on 9 they messed around with it too much….I am not chasing a program around…..I gave up investing in series on 9 a long time ago, sadly.

  12. I see Facebook has moved on from David Koch and their fake “sponsored” pages for Crypto scams to Matt Shirvington and Chris Kenny with fake Sunrise screen grabs etc. etc. for some scam site called Revolution 360. The immediate giveaways are the headline “The gift of billionaire philanthropist Chris Kenny has secured the future of common people” and no clock on the screen grabs. And my ANZ Bank statements look nothing like the fake “statement”.
